Red Buffalo Skincare was born from a simple but stubborn problem: dry, uncomfortable skin that never seemed to get better. Back in 2018, during one of our homeschool mornings, my four-year-old and I decided to experiment with crafting our own moisture bars. What began as a fun mother-child project quickly became something much bigger. Those early bars—tiny, imperfect, and made with sticky fingers—planted the seed for what would become a full skincare range built on nourishment, simplicity, and real-world resilience.
Over the years, my products have travelled far beyond the kitchen table. One of my favourite stories comes from a group of friends living in high-altitude, dry regions—places where the cold bites, the sun burns, and the air steals every drop of moisture from your lips. They told me they had tried everything: petroleum sticks, fancy balms, even layering products. But it was the Red Buffalo lip balms that finally stayed on, shielding their lips long enough to actually heal. One man in Nepal described it as “a buttery barrier against the environment”.
Then there are the messages from people living in desert climates—where dryness isn’t seasonal but a constant companion. For them, the moisture bars have become a small daily ritual of relief. One customer described keeping hers on the nightstand so she could smooth it over her skin before bed, saying it felt like “I cured my soul’.” When someone living in desert air says your product brings comfort, you know you’ve done something right.
But perhaps my favourite transformation stories come from the customers who were once sworn loyalists to the wet-wipe-armpit-cleanse. You know the move: a quick wipe-down before heading out the door, hoping it would keep the sweat smell at bay. Several of them reached out after trying our natural deodorant—some reluctantly, some sceptically—only to report back with delight. “I can’t believe it,” one wrote. “I walked the whole day. No stink. No sticky feeling. No wipes needed.” These are the victories that feel both small and enormous.
What started as a homeschool experiment has grown into a range trusted by people living in some of the harshest environments on earth. And yet our mission has stayed the same: gentle, effective skincare that simply works—wherever life takes you.
